ONE TINY STAR

The stars were out tonight and twinkling brightly in the sky
Little boys and girls were staring up at all the stars
So gently glinting in the dark
They were whispering and giggling with hands upon their faces
All were wishing for one more to fall

They loved the sight of those little stars
Made of streaming wispy beams of light
For dreams were attached and trailing far behind
Oh look mommy, oh look daddy, they're so beautiful to see
One tiny little star was sitting up so high
Just waiting for his turn to fall there from the sky
As he waited he did wonder so aloud
What will happen when I fall here from the sky
Will I come to be again way up here in the heavens
Will I chance to glow and shine again, way up in the dark
Will I splinter into a thousand rainbows to brighten everyone's day
Or will that be the end of me when I do go fall and die
The tiny little star did continue to his musing
All I wanted was right here to sit and shine away
For dreams of gleaming light to soften the Milky Way.
Perhaps God has some other plans
Just forgot to let me know
For here I am just another little star
All the little boys and girls then looked up into the big wide sky
Saying mommy- daddy- look at that!
As the tiny little star did tumble and stream it's way to die
Just one more to do just one more chance
No not for now little star
Perhaps the time will come but for another day.
